Made by hand

One person, one kitchen table, one box at a time.

This is not a warehouse operation. Every specimen is chosen to suit the month’s theme, sorted on a tray, wrapped in tissue and tied with string. If a corner is a little crooked, that is because a person put it there.

  • Every specimen is real, found in nature and curated to suit the month’s theme.
  • Every label, tag, booklet and box is printed and assembled by hand, one by one, so no two boxes are quite the same.
  • Everything is made in the Bay Area, California, with lots of love.
  • Only a minimal amount of plastic, used in place of glass where it keeps little hands safe. Everything else is real materials, recycled as much as we can.
